Easy

No previous kayak experience is required and most paddling is done is sheltered waters. Kayaking requires an average level of upper body strength and the ability to paddle from between 4 - 6 hours a day. Walks taken during the kayak tour may be on uneven terrain but all paths are generally clearly marked.

Moderate

Only basic skills are required, and a “naturally fit and healthy” or sporadic exerciser, with no health complications, should be able to handle this fitness level. Previous kayak experience is recommended for those taking the Queen Charlotte Islands Kayak Trip as there are some open ocean paddling and surf landings. On the Rockies Wildlife Tour, there is a variation between flat terrain and some longer steep slopes. Experience with carrying a light backpack for up to six hours useful, but we will not be attempting anything technical.

Queen Charlottes Islands   Queen Charlotte Islands Kayak Trips. 10 day and 12 day kayak trips into remote Haida Gwaa National Park. This package includes airfare to and from Vancouver, BC, pre and post trip accommodation in the Queen Charlotte Islands, all kayak gear, and water taxi or float plane services to and from the kayak put-in point. Some kayak experience is preferred. More…
Rockies Wildlife Tour   Rockies Wildlife Tour. 11 days, (9 nights camping, 1 night lodge) Vancouver, BC, return. Designed for those who want to camp, walk and see wildlife, our circle tour from Vancouver, BC, explores seven national and provincial parks in and near the Rockies. We include all gear, a hot springs soak and a tram ride. Hot showers on all but two nights, when we're very remote! More…
